Rape at Burlington Reservoir

The Burlington Police Department is investigating a rape that occurred recently at the Burlington reservoir. The suspect is described as a white male in his twenties, about 6-foot tall and thin. The suspect was wearing baggy basketball style shorts and an oversized sweatshirt. The assault took place between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.


The reservoir is located in the northeast part of town and borders the communities of Wilmington and Woburn. Anyone who has seen anyone suspicious or acting strangely in this area is asked to contact the Burlington Police Department at 781-272-1212.


People using this area are urged to be extra vigilant, to be aware of their surroundings and should not walk alone in the area.


The case is currently under investigation by Det. Anne Marie Browne. More information will be published as it becomes available.
